A ski week for ten: one house, 224 km of pistes and fondue at the long table

Casa Campanula is your base camp for Christmas, February half-term or a January ski week: five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a garage for the gear, and the ski bus stops in the village. LAAX is one of the largest and most snow-sure ski areas in Switzerland – 70% of its slopes lie above 2,000 m.

Big ski area, small village, your own house

LAAX is the ski area of Flims Laax Falera: around 224 km of pistes, 28 lifts, the Vorab glacier at 3,018 m, five snow parks and the world's largest halfpipe. Snowboarders know it from the LAAX Open, families from the wide, sunny slopes around Nagens and Crap Sogn Gion. And if you prefer a slower pace, there are winter hiking trails, toboggan runs and the Therme Vals within reach.

The village of Laax has stayed pleasantly low-key. Our house sits above it with a view over the valley – quiet, with four parking spaces and a few minutes' drive to the Laax base station. With the guest card the local bus is free.

The three winter moments groups book for

Christmas & New Year
Ten people, one house, one tree: Casa Campanula was built for family Christmases back in 1969. Fondue and raclette sets for 10 are there, so is the dining table. Christmas weeks are usually gone by October – ask early.
February half-term
The most snow-sure time of the year. Two families share house, ski bus and cooking duty – per person that is far cheaper than two apartments and much more fun.
Ski week in January or March
Empty slopes after New Year, the best light in March, prices around 25% below half-term. From 13 to 16 January 2027 the LAAX Open brings World Cup freestyle to your doorstep.

After the ski day: warm, big, uncomplicated

Five bedrooms with seven beds and four bathrooms mean nobody waits for the shower, and the kids have their own room. Ski gear stays in the garage; ski clothes dry overnight in the heated house.

The house is not ski-in/ski-out: it is a few minutes by car to the Laax base station, or take the local bus, free with the guest card.

LAAX in numbers – and what that means for you

  • 224 km of pistes, 28 lifts, 1,100–3,018 m: enough for a week without repeating yourself, from the Vorab glacier to the valley run into Laax.
  • 70% of the slopes above 2,000 m: snow-sure from late November into April.
  • Five snow parks and the world's largest halfpipe: the main argument for the teenagers in the group.
  • Families: wide practice slopes at Nagens and Crap Sogn Gion, ski schools in Laax and Flims, toboggan runs.
  • Without skis: winter hiking trails, snowshoe tours, Therme Vals (about 50 minutes), Chur (40 minutes).

Ski passes are sold online and in the INSIDE LAAX app – buying ahead pays. One tip for the week: book the fondue at Tegia Larnags on your first day.

Questions about ski holidays at Casa Campanula

How do we get to the slopes?
By car in a few minutes to the Laax base station (large car park), or with the local bus, which is free with the Flims Laax Falera guest card. You get the guest card from us at check-in.
Where do we store skis and snowboards?
In the garage that belongs to the house. Sledges and pushchairs stay dry there too. Ski boots and clothing dry overnight in the heated house.
Is the house suitable for Christmas with grandparents?
Yes – that is what it was built for. Five bedrooms are spread over several floors, so each generation has its peace. Fondue and raclette sets for 10, an oven, tableware for everyone and a dining table that seats all of you are there.
How early should we ask for Christmas or half-term?
Most winter guests book two to three months ahead; Christmas and February half-term are often gone by October. Booking direct is the safe option: free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival.
Can we reach the house by car in winter?
Yes. The road is cleared and four parking spaces belong to the house. Winter tyres are a given in Graubünden; snow chains are normally not needed. Without a car: train to Chur, PostBus to Laax, local bus almost to the door.
Can we book just a weekend?
Yes, from two nights. During half-term and over Christmas we prefer weekly bookings; outside those periods weekends are fine – early December and March are particularly good value.
