Why a house instead of a hotel

Strategy happens at the kitchen table, not in the conference room

Teams that cook together negotiate differently. A house forces nobody into the role of guest: you share kitchen, table and terrace, the evening carries on without a bill, and in the morning yesterday's topic is still on the flipchart. Then there is the price – for what a hotel charges per room, you have the whole house here.

Casa Campanula sits above Laax, quiet and with a view over the valley, but with the grocery store, bakery and restaurants within walking distance. In winter you are in the ski area within minutes, in summer on the trail or at Lake Cauma.

Formats

Three formats that work here

Strategy or planning days (2–3 nights)

Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday: workshop at the big table in the morning, a hike or ski day in the afternoon, cooking and an open round in the evening. Up to 10 people including management.

Team workation (Mon–Fri or longer)

Normal working days in a different place: fast Wi-Fi, quiet corners, lunch on the terrace. From 7 nights with 10% weekly discount, from 28 nights with 30% monthly discount.

Kick-off or team weekend

Friday to Sunday for the start of the year, the new team or the project that finally needs to get going. In winter with a ski day in LAAX, in summer with a bike or swimming day.

Bring flipchart, moderation material and projector, or ask us in advance – we will tell you honestly what we can organise. Catering from the village or a cooking evening with fondue for everyone can be arranged on request.

What a retreat costs – per house, not per room

One price for the whole house, including final cleaning, linen, towels, Wi-Fi and parking. On weekdays and outside the holidays the house is often free and at its cheapest.

Programme

A sample schedule for three days

Day 1: Arrive by noon (about 1¾ hours by car from Zurich, 40 minutes from Chur). Lunch on the terrace, afternoon review and vision at the big table, evening cooking together – with the fondue set for ten if you like.

Day 2: Morning work in two groups (living room and kitchen), afternoon outside: hike to the Il Spir viewing platform above the Rhine Gorge, bike day on the Runca Trail, or half a ski day in winter. Evening: Tegia Larnags or Ustria Lags.

Day 3: Decisions and actions in the morning, check-out by 10 am or later by arrangement, drive back in the afternoon.

For workations: the house is a normal workplace with good Wi-Fi and quiet corners – only that the lunch break happens at Lake Cauma.

FAQ

Questions from companies and teams

How many single rooms are there?

Five bedrooms with seven beds. For ten people that means shared rooms; if everyone needs a room of their own, plan for five. A middle way: double rooms for those who already know each other, single occupancy for management.

Can we get an invoice made out to the company?

Yes. Book via the website or by request; we issue the invoice to the company.

Is the Wi-Fi good enough for video calls?

Yes, fast and stable throughout the house – video calls, screen sharing and streaming are no problem. Mobile coverage in Laax is good too.

Is there a projector, flipchart or seminar room?

Not a seminar room in the classic sense – the big dining table is the workshop table, the living room the second space. The large TV can be used as a screen via HDMI. Bring flipchart and material, or ask us in advance.

Can we book the house for longer workations?

Yes. From seven nights there is a 10% weekly discount, from 28 nights a 30% monthly discount, each on top of the direct discount. In the low season (November, spring, autumn) the house is often free for weeks.

How do we get there without a car?

Train to Chur, PostBus to Laax (about 40 minutes), local bus or a 15-minute walk to the house. With the guest card the local bus is free.
